Collaborative family law and mediation services
Collaborative family law and mediation services
I have been licensed by the North Carolina State Bar since 2004, have practiced family law since 2005, and have been a board-certified family law specialist since 2010. I am also a Certified Family Financial Mediator and a skilled Collaborative Law practitioner.
In my practice as a divorce and family law litigator, I saw the pain, hostility, and conflict created and fostered by the litigation process. After spending years as a litigator, I decided to change my practice to focus primarily on non-litigation family law services, such as representation in Collaborative Law proceedings, negotiations, mediations, and arbitrations.
I see Collaborative Law as the future of family law. It is a cutting edge method of resolving disputes by going back to the basics that brought couples together in the first place - compassion, active listening, and empathy.
While I am presently accepting new clients in the greater Charlotte, North Carolina area, I intentionally keep my caseload small so as to be able to devote individualized attention to each of my clients.
I focus on Collaborative Law, mediation services, and individual family law representation.
A graduate of High Point University (B.A., Political Science) and Villanova University School of Law (J.D.), I am a board-certified family law specialist, a trained Collaborative Law practitioner, and a Certified Family Financial Mediator.
I am an active member of the North Carolina Bar Association and the Mecklenburg County Bar.
